Acceptable Use Policy

Scope

This policy applies to every API key, every membership tier and the playground.

Upstream policies and model licenses

Each model's provider usage policy and each open-weight model's license (for example, the Llama acceptable use policy) also apply to your use of that model. Where they are stricter than this policy, they win. [TODO(COUNSEL)] link each upstream policy and license.

Prohibited uses

You may not use Bearer Club to create, request or support:

Child sexual abuse material or any sexual content involving minors.
Weapons capable of mass harm (biological, chemical, nuclear or radiological), or instructions for building them.
Malware, or unauthorized access to or intrusion into systems.
Fraud, scams, phishing or spam.
Harassment, threats or hate.
Election manipulation or deceptive political influence operations.
Privacy violations or unlawful surveillance, including tracking or profiling people without a lawful basis.
High-risk automated decisions about people (for example credit, employment, housing or legal status) without meaningful human review.
Circumventing safety systems, including jailbreaking models to get around their safeguards.
Using outputs to train competing models where the model's provider forbids it.

You also may not:

Resell access, or sell, share or transfer API keys or accounts.
Access Bearer Club, or a model, from a region where it isn't supported.

Enforcement

We may refuse requests, rate-limit, suspend or terminate keys and accounts that break this policy, and report illegal content to the authorities where required. Upstream providers may also take action under their own policies. [TODO(COUNSEL)] notice and appeal process.
