GPT-5.5 API Member pricing vs list price
openai/gpt-5.5
ClosedGPT-5.5 is a closed OpenAI model in the GPT-5 series, at $5.00 per 1M input tokens and $30.00 per 1M output tokens at list, with a 1,050,000-token context window. The newer GPT-5.6 Sol is 20% cheaper than GPT-5.5 on input. It is for members only.
GPT-5.5 prices per 1M tokens
Input / output, by membership tier and data policy. Every price is a percent of the provider's public list price.

|---|---|---|
| List price | $5.00 input, $30.00 output per 1M tokens | |

Does Member pay for itself on GPT-5.5?
Member costs $199 a year. At list price, a Member Private key saves $0.25 per 1M input tokens and $1.50 per 1M output tokens. It pays for itself at about $3,980 a year ($332 a month) of GPT-5.5 spend at list price.
At $5.00 per 1M input tokens that is about 796M input tokens a year, or 66M a month. Ten tasks a day at 100,000 input tokens each is 30M input tokens a month, 45% of that; output, at 6Γ the input price, brings the point closer.
Executive ($1,999 a year) pays for itself on GPT-5.5 alone above $13,327 a year of spend at list price with a Private key or $9,995 with Research Share, and it costs less than Member once Private spend at list passes $1,500 a month.
- Member ($199 a year) pays for itself once your GPT-5.5 spend at list price passes $332 a month with a Private key (about 29M tokens at a 3:1 input-to-output mix) or $166 a month with Research Share.
- Executive ($1,999 a year) costs less than Member above $1,500 a month (Private keys), about 133M tokens a month.
At this volume Member Β· Research Share saves $95.92 a month against list price.
| Plan | Usage / mo | Fee / mo | Net vs list / mo | Pays off above |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Member Β· Private | $1,069 | $16.58 | $39.67 | 29M tokens |
| Member Β· Research Share | $1,013 | $16.58 | $95.92 | 15M tokens |
| Executive Β· Private | $956 | $167 | $2.17 | 99M tokens |
| Executive Β· Research Share | $900 | $167 | $58.42 | 74M tokens |
Usage at each plan's price per token. The fee is the annual membership fee divided by 12 and covers every model, so spend on other models counts toward it too.

What GPT-5.5 is best at
Teams with prompts built on GPT-5
Prompt libraries and evals tuned on the GPT-5 family can stay on an OpenAI model: on Bearer Club you change the base URL and key and use the model id openai/gpt-5.5 in chat completions (the Responses and Assistants APIs are not served). Re-run your evals after the switch.
Long-context work across many documents
A 1,050,000-token window, larger than the 1,000,000-token window of Claude Opus 5.5, holds a long regulatory filing with its exhibits in one request. Reading 500,000 input tokens costs about $2.50 at list.
Code review on large repositories
Architecture refactors, systemic bug hunts and migration plans need a lot of code in view at once. Bearer Club passes tools and tool_choice through where GPT-5.5 supports them; compare it with lower-priced models on your own repositories.
What 1,000 requests cost
Example request shapes, priced per 1,000 requests from the per-token prices above.
| Request (input / output tokens) | List price | Member Private | Executive Private |

| Short chat reply1,000 / 300 | $14.00 | $13.30 | $11.90 |
| Document summary20,000 / 1,000 | $130 | $124 | $111 |

GPT-5.5 vs similar models
- vs GPT-5.6 Sol: GPT-5.6 Sol costs $4.00 per 1M input tokens at list, 20% cheaper than GPT-5.5, and $20.00 per 1M output tokens, 33% cheaper than GPT-5.5; it has the same 1,050,000-token window as GPT-5.5. If it meets your quality bar, it is the lower-cost option; keep GPT-5.5 where prompts and evals are validated on it.
- vs Claude Opus 5.5: Claude Opus 5.5 costs $4.00 per 1M input tokens at list, 20% cheaper than GPT-5.5, and $20.00 per 1M output tokens, 33% cheaper than GPT-5.5; it has a 1,000,000-token window, smaller than GPT-5.5's 1,050,000. Test both on your own domain before committing at scale.
- vs GPT-6 Astra: GPT-6 Astra costs $10.00 per 1M input tokens at list, 2Γ the price of GPT-5.5, and is the highest-priced OpenAI model on Bearer Club. Run your task on GPT-5.5 first and move up only when your evals show it falling short.

Data policy for this model
Private: Your prompts and outputs are never used for training and never shared or licensed. For security, abuse prevention and debugging we store request and response content, encrypted, and delete it after 30 days; error details may be kept longer. We also keep usage details (model, tokens, cost, latency, status and time). The model provider may keep requests briefly for abuse monitoring under its own terms.
Research Share: available. Opt in per key and pay less. Data from that key will be used to accelerate AGI and supplied to top frontier labs for AGI purposes, and only for traffic after you opt in.
Regions
Each model is served only in the regions its provider supports. Per-model region details are not published yet.
Use GPT-5.5 with the OpenAI SDK
Change two settings: point the SDK at https://api.bearer.club/v1 and use your Bearer Club key, then pass openai/gpt-5.5 as the model.
curl https://api.bearer.club/v1/chat/completions \ -H "Authorization: Bearer $BEARER_CLUB_API_KEY" \ -H "Content-Type: application/json" \ -d '{ "model": "openai/gpt-5.5", "messages": [{"role": "user", "content": "Hello from the Club!"}] }'import osfrom openai import OpenAIclient = OpenAI( base_url="https://api.bearer.club/v1", api_key=os.environ["BEARER_CLUB_API_KEY"], # your membership card)resp = client.chat.completions.create( model="openai/gpt-5.5", messages=[{"role": "user", "content": "Hello from the Club!"}],)print(resp.choices[0].message.content)import OpenAI from "openai";const client = new OpenAI({ baseURL: "https://api.bearer.club/v1", apiKey: process.env.BEARER_CLUB_API_KEY, // your membership card});const resp = await client.chat.completions.create({ model: "openai/gpt-5.5", messages: [{ role: "user", content: "Hello from the Club!" }],});console.log(resp.choices[0].message.content);The official OpenAI SDKs and most OpenAI-compatible tools, such as Cursor, Cline, Continue, Open WebUI and LiteLLM, work the same way; the name of the base URL setting varies by tool.
GPT-5.5 FAQ
What context window does GPT-5.5 support?
1,050,000 tokens, roughly 790,000 English words. The prompt and the answer together have to fit in it.
When should I use GPT-5.5 instead of GPT-5.6 Sol?
GPT-5.6 Sol is 20% cheaper than GPT-5.5 on input, with the same 1,050,000-token window as GPT-5.5. Start new workloads on GPT-5.6 Sol; stay on GPT-5.5 if your evals show a difference that matters.
Is GPT-5.5 available on the Guest tier?
No. GPT-5.5 is a closed model from OpenAI, and it needs a Member ($199 a year) or Executive ($1,999 a year) membership.
How does output pricing compare with input on GPT-5.5?
Output is $30.00 per 1M tokens against $5.00 for input, 6Γ as much. For long answers that ratio drives the cost; for extraction or classification with short answers the input price dominates.
What is the model ID for GPT-5.5 on Bearer Club?
Use openai/gpt-5.5 as the model in requests to https://api.bearer.club/v1/chat/completions. The same id appears in the https://api.bearer.club/v1/models list.
